Director of Primary Education
Director of Primary Education required to start as soon as possible
Salary Scale: Highly competitive
“Enabling schools, aspiration and faith to flourish by uplifting hearts and inspiring minds.”
We are looking to offer a part time fixed term contract or part time secondment opportunity to an experienced primary headteacher to develop our offer to primary schools within Sefton. The Pope Francis Catholic Multi Academy Trust is the first of the Archdiocese of Liverpool’s CMATs and acts as a pathfinder for the others.
At present our Trust is made up of professionals from a Secondary background. We are keen to develop our provision as we engage with our partners so that we can provide a clear Trust bonus to all our schools. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to be involved with the new Catholic Multi Academy Trusts from the beginning, determining the Pope Francis CMAT’s Primary offer but also helping to establish a pattern of working that hopefully all CMATs will follow.
We are looking for an experienced primary headteacher who is able to demonstrate all a proven track record of school leadership and is ready to shape the future of Catholic education in our Archdiocese.
In terms of the role we are flexible in order to attract the best candidate but anticipate this being a 0.4 to 0.6 secondment/contract. In the long term, once a number of primary schools have joined the Trust, the post will become full time and substantive.
If this role is of interest to you, please contact Andrew Dawson CEO, andrew.dawson@pfcmat.org for a confidential and informal conversation.
The role is offered on a fixed term basis or a secondment with the support of the current employer
PFCMAT is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and we can expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
Person Specification
To develop a coherent, effective Trust infrastructure for primary schools and actively engage with primary stakeholders throughout Sefton and the Archdiocese to raise awareness of the Trust and benefits of becoming part of the CMAT family.
The postholder will be an outstanding strategic leader, who is able to support the development of the vision, values and ethos of The Pope Francis Catholic MAT and who will inspire and empower others to share in achieving it. The Director of Primary Education will be accountable to the CEO and the Board of Trustees.
